WEEK 1 : PREPRODUCTION I - FROM SCRIPT TO SHOOTING SCRIPT

- • Introductions & orientation, Instructor presentation of course objectives,
policy, and syllabus.
- • Instructor presentation: a talk-through of the script, artistic paradigm,
emphasis on experimental. Students discuss outline of course strategy, organization, & outcomes, questions.
- • Instructor & TAs lead introductory discussion on basic film crew and class organization & operation,
with examples on production chains for specific shots.
- • Students divide into smaller groups for departmental orientation.
- • Instructor/TA presentation: Students view clips from reference films, group discussion and analysis.
T 6.21
- • Students break into smaller (departmental) groups to begin preproduction.
TH 6.23
- • Students continue preproduction.
